A scarf is a textile, not a print. Marty & Pat’s frames scarves with careful hand pinning so the cloth hangs even, the pattern stays true, and the silk or wool is not glued to a board. Custom acrylic is available when a piece needs a clearer, lighter face than glass.
The same bench handles related textile and object work — jerseys, flags, and other fabric pieces that need space and support. Conservation-quality materials keep dyes and fibers from sitting against acidic mounts.
Hermès-weight silk, a family wool square, a concert scarf, or a vintage find from Camp Bowie shopping all ask for the same patience: pin, step back, adjust. The pattern should sit the way you remember wearing it, not pulled toward one corner. That is slower than stretching a poster, and it is why people still bring textiles to a shop instead of a strip-mall counter.
If the fabric is counted stitching rather than a fashion textile, start with needlework framing. Sports cloth and game-worn pieces are covered on jersey framing. A scarf that should float in a deep box, or sit with a program or ticket, may become a shadowbox.
The shop has been locally owned on Camp Bowie, in Fort Worth’s Bricks culture hub, since 1986. If you are coming from West 7th, the Cultural District, or farther west toward Ridglea and Tanglewood, weekday walk-ins are the usual path. You can see other finished textiles in the gallery while you choose moulding.
Conservation framing is the materials conversation underneath the pins. Custom picture framing is the rest of the wall if the scarf is one piece in a larger hang.
Call (817) 738-7328 or visit 5025 Camp Bowie Boulevard, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Bring the scarf folded or on a hanger; the staff will pin a layout with you before the frame is built.
Questions we hear
Will you glue my scarf to the backing?
No. Scarves are framed with careful hand pinning so the cloth is not glued to a board. The point is an even hang and a pattern that stays true.
Can a scarf be framed under acrylic instead of glass?
Custom acrylic is available when a piece needs a clearer, lighter face than glass. The staff will help you choose based on size, location, and how you want the textile to read.
Do you also frame jerseys and other fabric pieces?
Yes. The same textile bench handles jerseys, flags, and other fabric that needs space and support. Ask about jersey framing if the piece is sports memorabilia.
