You bring in a jersey, and we'll frame it so the shirt still looks like a shirt. Marty & Pat’s has been on Camp Bowie for 40 years, and jersey framing is something we do a lot of. Bring a game-worn shirt, a replica you actually want on the wall, or a jersey that should sit with photographs. We'll lay it out with you before we build the box, so the fabric isn't crushed against the glass.
You can see finished jersey shadowboxes in the local art gallery. Basketball and football shirts pinned clean, team colors matched in the mat, photos or patches in their own windows when you want more than the number on the back. That's regular custom work here, not a kit stuffed into a poster frame.
Fort Worth families come in with high-school and college shirts, pro replicas, and pieces that mark a season. West 7th and the Cultural District are close enough that a weekday visit is easy. Ridglea, Tanglewood, and Arlington Heights use the same Monday through Friday hours. You don't need a weekend appointment. The shop is closed Saturday and Sunday.
We'll talk through how the jersey is mounted so it hangs square, the name is readable, and the sleeves settle the way they should. We use conservation-quality materials so the dyes aren't sitting on acidic board. If the jersey shares a box with photos, tickets, or a cap, that's shadowbox framing as much as jersey work. We'll plan it as one presentation.
We frame a lot of textiles. Scarf framing uses the same careful hand pinning. Counted work goes to the needlework specialist. Flags and other fabric pieces are welcome when they need space rather than a tight stretch.
This is still the Camp Bowie shop, locally owned since 1986. Our framers are certified by the Professional Picture Framers Association. There's a local art gallery in the same room, and custom picture framing for the rest of the wall. We'll use conservation matting for the boards and glass under the pins. Moulding, glass, and depth change the quote, so we'll show you those choices in the shop.
People come back after a season with the next jersey. We get to meet new people every day, and we try to provide the same quality that we've always had. Visit 5025 Camp Bowie Boulevard, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or call (817) 738-7328. Bring the jersey on a hanger or folded. If photos or a cap belong in the same box, bring those too so we can plan the layout from the start.
Questions we hear
Do you frame jerseys and other sports memorabilia?
Yes. Jerseys, photos, caps, and related keepsakes are regular custom work. We'll build a shadowbox with enough depth for the shirt and match the mats to the piece, rather than forcing a kit size.
Can photos or a cap go in the same frame as the jersey?
Often yes. A lot of presentations pair the shirt with photographs or a cap in one shadowbox. Bring everything you want considered so we can plan the layout together.
Should I wash or pin the jersey before I come in?
Bring it as you have it. We'll talk through mounting and whether anything should be cleaned or left as-is. Please don't glue it or fold it tightly in a way you wouldn't want to undo.
